Covid Disclaimer

The ongoing pandemic is a complex and fluid situation. The government of Iceland, The Department of Civil Protection and The Directorate of Health are constantly monitoring the COVID-19 cases in Iceland and implementing regulations and restrictions in response to the spread of the virus. We, therefore, ask travellers, before visiting Iceland, to go to covid.is and the World Health Organization websites for the most up to date information on travel.

Safety measures.
The safety and wellbeing of our travellers, leaders, guides, staff and suppliers remain our priority and we constantly review our health and safety policies and implement all hygiene and sanitation protocols with updated regulations from the government. We would like to emphasise on hand hygiene, and the use of masks in public places and physical distancing. Due to the ongoing impact of Coronavirus (COVID-19), we’ve made a number of updates to our safety guidelines, flexible booking conditions and trip departures.

Safety.
Iceland´s borders have remained open to EU and Schengen states throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. Iceland continues to update travel restrictions, see more here.

Before Arrival.
All travellers must fill out a pre-registration form, before entering Iceland, and are encouraged to download and use the COVID-19 app called Rakning C-19 (download here). Please note that the pre-registration form is not a travel authorisation form.

Border screening.
Test: Travellers must undergo two PCR tests for COVID-19, one upon arrival, and another five days later. Between the first and second test, travellers must spend 5 days in quarantine. The fee for border screening is ISK 9,000 if pre-paid when pre-registering, and ISK 11,000 at the point of arrival. No charge is taken for the second screening test.
Children born in or after 2005 are exempt from the screening, and the same exemption applies to persons who have been certified by the Icelandic health authorities, following a PCR test, as having previously been infected with COVID-19 and have completed a period of isolation, or if they have been shown by antibody measurements to have recovered from COVID-19
Quarantine: Travellers that choose to not undergo border screening must spend 14 days in quarantine after arrival.
